Position: MidLevel Buyer
** Please note this is not a work from home position. **
UHaul is seeking a MidLevel Buyer at our Technical Center in Tempe AZ. The Buyeris person will be responsible for interviewing vendors obtaining competitive bids for major purchases negotiating with vendors on price quality service and delivery as required by UHaul and as well as awarding contracts. The Buyer will also consult on quality control and coordinate with the Supplier and internal stakeholders on product deficiency situationsnonconforming product and negotiate disposition. They will expedite critical items as necessary. and furnish lead time advice. Work is of a complex nature involvingThis role requires a considerable amount of initiative analytical work and a high level of independent judgment. Other related duties tasks will be assigned as required within the Purchasing Department.
Daily duties entail include creating Purchase Orders expediting orders and following through from procure to payment. The Buyer will Working with Engineering R&D technical teams and other departments and program managers to develop and source products. They will communicate with field operations and all levels of management. They will review opportunities for continuous improvement cost reduction and strategic sourcing tactics. Procurement is based on Purchase Requisitions and MRP settings in support of production repair and special projects.

- Expedite material/update/communicate procurement status 25
- Participate in supplier development and cost reduction activities 15
- Reconcile payment errors 5
- Travel required: less than 5
Required Skills/Experience:
- 2 years of experience in Supply Chain Management
- Familiar Experience with computerized purchasing systems
- ERP systems
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Manufacturing or Production buying experience desired
- Familiar with or the ability to read blueprints/drawings
- Proficient with Excel
- Selfstarter
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Manufacturing or Production buying experience

Education/Training:
- Degree in Purchasing Supply Chain Management Materials Management or the equivalent in work experience.
- Must have two years of purchasing experience
