The Cathedral Collegeis a Catholic coeducational Secondary Boarding College with Catholic Education in the Diocese of Rockhampton.The College aims to deliver a holistic Catholic Education where academic excellence goes hand in hand with spiritual emotional physical cultural and social development.

The College is built in the shadow of St Josephs Cathedral and welcomes189Boarders from across Central Queensland and beyond enriching the College community.1330students are enrolled and all are invited to respond to Jesus Christs message to come live life in all its fullness.

Girls Boarding is located a short distance from the College in Agnes Street and Boys Boarding is situated on the College site in Derby Street. Our Boarders are an integral part of the College and enrich College life.

About the role

Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicantsto jointhe staff of The Cathedral College Rockhamptonin casual termtime and fulltime positions.

Our Supervisors provide pastoral and academic support for our boarders in their daily boarding routines and support the operation of the Boarding House to create a safe comfortable and nurturing environment for young people to thrive.

This role provides a rewarding career in the engagement with young people and ability to be part of the formation in a young persons life.

You have the opportunity to bring your own talents into our community of care with a supportive collegial environment as our boarders are cared for in their home away from home.

Rostered shifts include day afternoon night and weekend shifts (dependent on your employment arrangements) and would suit a variety of different life work and study circumstances. We encourage you to contact Mr Mick Busby onto discuss roster flexibility and requirements of the role.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • The holistic care of our boarders encompassing their physical emotional and spiritual wellbeing
  • Supervision of boarders in their boarding routines
  • Academic support during study sessions
  • Accompanying to activities and events
  • Accompanying to appointments (when required)
  • Transporting boarders using school vehicle to sporting events and outings

About you

The successful applicant will have:

  • An understanding of and a commitment to the ethos of Catholic education
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal skills
  • High proficiency of computer skills
  • A Willingness to work rostered weekend and night shifts (desirable)
  • An Open Drivers Licence (QLD) (desirable)
  • MR Class drivers licence (desirable)

Mandatory Requirements
