Summary of Job

Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) at Kyowa Kirin are the fieldbased extension of our Medical Affairs department. MSLs are scientificallytrained professionals who possess strong clinical and/or scientific backgrounds whose role is to be a resource of fairbalanced and scientificallyrigorous information to the healthcare community.

Essential Functions:

• Identify establish and maintain professional relationships and dialogue with international national regional and local key opinion leaders and allied healthcare professionals.
• Educate healthcare professionals and managed market professionals on Kyowa Kirins product portfolio.
• Ensure the appropriate dissemination of transparent fairbalanced scientific and clinical information knowledge and services in a timely compliant ethical and customerfocused manner.
• Function as a regional medical/scientific resource and work to pair external stakeholder needs with available Kyowa Kirin resources.
• Demonstrate proficiency in delivering educational resources and clinical information in response to an established need/request.
• Liaise with investigators to support clinical research activities (investigatorinitiated and company sponsored).
• Facilitate speaker development and training.
• Engage in timely and fairbalanced scientific exchanges with HCPs in response to unsolicited requests for information related to Kyowa Kirins products.
• Lead contribute to attend and provide scientific support at international national regional and local medical conferences.
• Liaise with Clinical Operations to support companysponsored studies.
• Actively participate in advisory boards and clinical investigator meetings.
• Gather data to generate insights and competitive intelligence to provide quality and appropriate feedback to headquarters based on field interactions with healthcare providers thought leaders and congress attendance.
• Deliver internal educational training sessions for internal stakeholders including disease state therapeutic landscape and product information.
• Build and cultivate working relationships crossfunctionally with adherence to compliance guidelines.
• Engage in continued independent learning within the therapeutic area
• Participate in PRC/MRC as needed
• Adherence to all company regulatory and compliance policies

Job Requirements:

Education

• Advanced clinical/science degree or health care professional credentials required (MD PhD RPh PharmD NP PA MS or equivalent) Doctorate preferred

Experience

• Minimum 13 years MSL fieldbased or clinical position preferred
• Therapeutic area experience preferred
• Knowledge of treatment guidelines clinical research processes FDA regulations and Officer of Inspector General (OIG) guidelines preferred
• Outstanding interpersonal skills including building strong working relationships and managing and resolving conflict
• Excellent communication skills (written verbal listening and presentation)
• Resultsoriented
• Team oriented
• Proven track record of success
• Current knowledge & full understanding of all relevant industry legal and regulatory compliance guidelines

Physical Requirements:

Ability to travel both air and ground up to 70 including overnight travel (Including some weekends for conference coverage)

Must live near an airport/rail station and within the assigned region. Regional coverage may vary and be large geographies.

Must have a valid drivers license

Annualized base salary ranges from $175000 $195000 plus sales incentive; actual salaries will vary and may be above or below this range commensurate with various factors including but not limited to experience education training and merit.

This position is eligible for a company car through the Companys FLEET program.
