A Day in the Life of an Instructional Designer & Trainer:
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs define learning objectives project requirements and desired outcomes.
Design and develop engaging learning activities and course content including elearning modules videos simulations and assessments to enhance knowledge retention and transfer.
Establish criteria to evaluate learner performance and develop assessment methods to measure the effectiveness of courses and curricula.
Facilitate and lead pilot training sessions and TraintheTrainer programs applying adult learning principles to select the most effective delivery methods (eLearning selfpaced instructorled virtual and microlearning).
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to manage project timelines and deliverables communicate progress and develop action plans to address potential risks.
Maintain a central repository of content files and manage their publication to the Learning Management System (LMS).
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Minimum of 2 years experience designing and managing the development of webbased videobased or virtual learning preferably in a corporate or educational setting.
Postsecondary diploma/degree in instructional design educational technology multimedia design curriculum development or a related field is highly valued. Strong understanding of adult learning theory curriculum planning training needs analysis instructional design and evaluation strategies.
Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System (LMS). Proficient with tools such as Articulate 360 Adobe Creative Cloud Microsoft Office Suite Vyond Camtasia and other video editing software.
Ability to create a variety of learning materials including facilitator and participant manuals assessments certification plans job aids and other followup tools.
Must stay current with evolving technologies and have the flexibility to adapt to changing market demands.
Experience in technical writing graphic design or eLearning development is an asset. Fluency in French is also considered an asset.
