Faculty facilitate student learning and initiate and participate in efforts to consistently improve the level of student success. As learning facilitators faculty consistently assess learning outcomes and their own teaching effectiveness.

This position reports to the Dean School of Manufacturing Engineering and IT.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Deliver curriculum monitor and make recommendations as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
  2. Effective management of the classroom and/or laboratory.
  3. Promote and engage in student recruitment retention and completion goals fostering a culture of professionalism and inclusive learning.
  4. Monitor and assess student learning outcomes and provide timely and frequent feedback to students on academic performance.
  5. Participate in advisory and/or institutional committees.
  6. Maintain certification continue professional development and stay current in field and/or discipline.
INSTRUCTION PROGRAM SPECIFIC
  • Develop relationships with business and industry.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THE POSITION

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Related Degree (Architectural Structural Mining Environmental Construction Management) PLUS at least 2 years 4000 hours) of occupational experience in Civil Engineering
OR
  • Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field PLUS four years 8000 hours)of occupational experience in Civil Engineering
OR
  • 7 years 14000 hours) of occupational experience in Civil Engineering

*Included in the above experience at least 2000 hours of verified occupational experience must be within the last five yearsOR at least 2 years of fulltime 8 semesters of parttime) postsecondary teaching experience in the occupational field within the last five years.*

OTHER KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY:
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced agile environment.
  • Ability to work with a diverse workforce and student population
  • Ability to use student learning management systems
  • Culturally competent including strong emotional intelligence and the ability to engage and build relationships with constituents and underrepresented communities.
