The European Space Agencys Climate Change Initiative has compiled highquality datasets for a large number of Essential Climate Variables (ECV) for lakes and various other ecosystem types. In our project an international and interdisciplinary team of Earth observation experts and limnologists performs research on spatiotemporal features and environmental implications of ecosystem tipping points using these ECV datasets and complementary model simulations and observations.
