Job Description

H2M architects engineers a multidiscipline architectural engineering environmental consulting firm seeks a Resident Engineer in our Melville NY office to oversee and direct the resident engineering construction observation teams assigned to various infrastructure projects. In this position will work closely with the clients management team and the construction contractor to deliver successful projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides oversight management on assigned project and all staff assigned to project.
  • Leads all project site coordination meetings.
  • Ensure the required testing and inspection of materials used on projects is performed in accordance with approved plans specifications and ordinances on behalf of clients/owners.
  • Provides quality assurance testing procedures observation protocols construction techniques and timely completion of daily observation activities.
  • Reviews plans for assigned projects observes and inspects construction work performed by others and attends preconstruction conferences progress meetings and safety meetings.
  • Interprets drawings and specifications.
  • Monitors contract cost and schedule; reviews change order preparation as necessary.
  • Reviews submittals and other related construction documents and recommends technical solutions.
  • Performs daily construction observation daily reports punch list inspections and participates in project schedule/invoice reviews.
  • Reviews and approves contractor requisitions for payment.
  • Mentors and/or supervises junior staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college required.
  • Valid NYS P.E. License required
  • Minimum710 years experience in construction inspection and/or management of infrastructure projects (water wastewater road construction architectural/mason construction etc.
  • Must have strong communication skills to lead and direct project initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to tactfully shift priorities and solve problems at multiple levels

Thesalary rangefor this role is $110000 $145000 annually.

The employment offer may deviate from this publishedrangebased on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience specialty knowledge education geography and/or related certifications not related to any applicants characteristicsprotected by local state or federal law.Note: The salary or hourly rate indicated does not include other forms of compensationor benefits.
