SAITs Continuing Education & Professional Development department is looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide guidance on courses relating to the Economics of Carbon for our new Carbon Capture Management Program! This course area will provide an introductorylevel yet comprehensive overview of carbon management practices including carbon footprint assessment emission sources and mitigation strategies. Our ideal candidate will have a background in carbon market economics emissions trading and financial assessments of carbon management strategies. They will have expertise in carbon footprint assessment costbenefit analysis and mitigation strategies.

Anticipated end date: End of March 2025
The Role
As a Subject Matter Expert you will:
Provide strategic guidance and leadership for the new face to face courses.
Work collaboratively with a Product Strategist and Instructional Designers to create specific deliverables
Have availability for meetings during regular business hours
Meet all agreed upon deadlines
Be responsive with communication within a day
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree from a recognized post secondary institution in Business or Education a Masters Degree from a recognized post secondary institution is preferred
Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience
Expertise in carbon market economics emissions trading and financial assessments specifically for carbon management strategies
Expertise in carbon footprint assessment costbenefit analysis and mitigation strategies
Additional designations (i.e. Chartered Professional Accountant) is preferred
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Fluent in English reading and vocabulary
Comfortable speaking to the public
Positive & respectful attitude
Ability to read interpret and deliver specific curriculum
Excellent communication skills
Ability to organize and present written information
Desired:
Previous experience with curriculum development or instructional design projects
Experience and fluency with Office 365 (MS Word Outlook and PowerPoint)
Experience with videoconferencingtechnology (MS Teams WebX Skype or Zoom)
Experience with a Learning Management System (Brightspace or Moodle is an asset)
Training and knowledge of adult learning fundamentals
Formal training or education in facilitation or teaching considered an asset
Formal training in online technologies considered an asset
Ability to meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills and works well collaborating with teams
Ability to hit the ground running

Ability to organize and present written information
