Job Description

Hyundai Rotem USA a subsidiary of Hyundai Rotem is a leading supplier of railway systems and rolling stock solutions. Our U.S. operations focus on manufacturing metro & rail vehicles in compliance with the Buy America requirements. We are committed to delivering highquality rail products to meet the needs of various transit authorities while fostering local partnerships.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality assurance efforts for the U.S. operations. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for setting up and implementing quality assurance processes managing compliance and conducting audits to ensure adherence to internal and external standards. This position will play a critical role in maintaining the quality of our products and services ensuring compliance with industry standards and achieving ISO certification for our U.S. operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Management System (QMS) Development & Implementation:

  • Establish implement and maintain the Quality Management System for U.S. operations in compliance with ISO standards and industry best practices.
  • Revise and update quality assurance policies and procedures as required.
  • Lead the efforts to reestablish ISO certification for the U.S. operations ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

2. Supplier Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct quality audits and evaluations of all U.S. suppliers including the final assembly supplier to ensure compliance with Hyundai Rotems quality requirements.
  • Develop and implement supplier quality assurance processes performance metrics and improvement plans.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with U.S. suppliers to facilitate quality compliance and continuous improvement.

3. Production Oversight & Quality Assurance:

  • Oversee and monitor quality assurance processes during the final assembly and integration of vehicles in the U.S. ensuring all components and assemblies meet specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Korean manufacturing team to ensure that vehicles manufactured and partially assembled in Korea meet U.S. quality requirements before shipping to the U.S. for final assembly.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to outsourced final assembly suppliers to ensure quality standards are met.

4. Quality Control & Process Improvement:

  • Implement effective quality control systems to detect resolve and prevent quality issues during production.
  • Develop document and refine quality control procedures for both inhouse and outsourced assembly operations.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality incidents implementing robust process improvements to prevent recurrence.

5. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with Buy America requirements industry regulations and client specifications throughout the supply chain and final assembly processes.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of industry regulations and standards to ensure the U.S. operations are always in compliance.

6. Team Leadership & Coordination:

  • Act as the head of the quality function in the U.S. coordinating quality assurance activities between the U.S. and Korean operations.
  • Mentor and train quality personnel promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Engineering Quality Management or a related field.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in quality assurance and management preferably in the rail automotive or manufacturing industries.
  • Proven experience with ISO 9001 certification and maintaining quality management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. regulatory requirements including Buy America compliance.
  • Experience in supplier quality assurance and conducting audits.
  • Excellent problemsolving organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a crossfunctional and multicultural environment.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM) credentials preferred.

Job Type: Fulltime

Pay: $120000.00 $150000.00 per year
