Are you a confident communicator Do you have a good working knowledge of WeChat The Postgraduate Careers Team in the Business School are seeking a temporary Graduate Tracking Assistant to support our data collection of recent MBA and MSc graduates employment status. This is important work to help the School maintain its position in various business school rankings such as the Financial Times Masters Rankings and the QS MBA and Business Masters Rankings.

Start Date:As soon as possible to be confirmed by the hiring manager
End Date: 31st July 2025
Working Hours:Up to 20 hours per week 234 hours over the duration
Pay Rate: 13.12 per hour plus holiday pay
Location: Business School Jubilee Campus
Dress Code: Smart casual (jeans allowed)

The duties will include:

  • Contacting MSc and MBA graduates 2024 circa 900 graduates by telephone call/email/social media e.g. WeChat LinkedIn
  • Surveying the graduates about their career progression (using a prepared set of questions) identifying those that require careers support and making referrals to a Careers Consultant
  • Logging confidential information ascertained from the calls. This information is the used for the Business Schools data submission to Financial Times MBA Masters in Management and Masters in Finance rankings


Skills and experience required for the role:

  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
  • Ability to communicate with Chinese graduates fluently in their native language as well as graduates from the UK and other countries in fluent English
  • Professional and confident telephone manner
  • Professional approach to written communications and proficient in the use of WeChat LinkedIn and email
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly elicit information signpost to further support and persuade graduates to complete online career progression surveys
  • Methodical approach to tasks whilst paying attention to detail
  • Experience of handling confidential information
