Job Description
Position: Phlebotomist/Healthcare Support Worker
Location: Falmouth
Hours: 23 days per week; shift patterns vary
Duration: Ongoing
Pulse AHPs Phlebotomy Team is currently recruiting experienced Phlebotomists/Healthcare Support Workers to join the team for a role based in the Falmouth area.
To be successful in this role you MUST have at least 1 years experience in drawing blood and proof of competency as a phlebotomist.
Our Future Health is the UKs largest ever health research programme its been specifically designed to help people live healthier lives for longer. Volunteers provide physical measurements blood samples and lifestyle data to help with the discovery and testing of more effective approaches to disease prevention early detection and treatment. Pulse is proud to be supporting Our Future Health on this pivotal project.
Essential skills:
- Recent phlebotomy experience of at least 12 months
- Proof of competency
- Driving ability would be very beneficial due to the sites being mobile.
We are looking for experienced phlebotomists who must also have HCA experience to work at least 23 days per week in a 7day service. These will be long days working between 7.45 am 6.15 pm on weekdays Saturday 8.45 am 5.15 pm and Sunday hours being 10.45 am 4.15 pm. The role is based at a mobile site which moves around regularly every 45 weeks so it would be very beneficial if you could drive and work at different sites.
Main responsibilities of this phlebotomy vacancy:
- Complete POCT cholesterol checks on all participants. These include height weight and waist measurements capturing heart rate and blood pressure checks and inputting result data onto the system.
- Draw two blood samples for each participant labelling and storing them correctly.
- Check the participants welfare throughout the appointment escalating any issues to the nurse in charge as required.
- Offer signposting advice and guidance to participants as needed.
- Prepare boxes containing samples to be collected by the courier at the end of every shift.
Essential requirements of this phlebotomist vacancy:
- You must be a phlebotomist with recent experience of at least 12 months.
- You must be willing to fully register with our agency.
