Job Description

RieLes Group is seeking a Weekend Phlebotomists supporting Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center (Dorn VAMC) at Columbia SC. The Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center (Dorn VAMC) is a Veterans Affairs hospital in Columbia SC providing comprehensive healthcare services to veterans. It is a 216bed facility offering primary care specialty care mental health surgery oncology geriatrics neurology emergency care and rehabilitation.

Job Title: Weekend Phlebotomist
Facility Name: Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center (Dorn VAMC)

Period of Performance: One year 07/01/2025 06/30/2026 with four oneyear option periods

Job Summary:
Weekend Phlebotomists will provide onsite blood collection and specimen processing services at the Dorn VA Medical Center ensuring continued laboratory support for veteran care during weekends and holidays

Key Responsibilities:
  • Weekend Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection during weekend shifts
  • Accurately label process and prepare samples for testing Follow strict infection control and safety protocols
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Work collaboratively with medical staff to ensure timely sample processing

Requirements:
  • Vaccinations: Proof of MMR Varicella Tdap COVID19 and annual Influenza vaccination unless contraindicated
  • Degree & Certs: Phlebotomy Certification from a national or staterecognized organization (e.g. ASCP NHA AMT or NCCT) Minimum of two 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience required
  • Training Requirement: VA Privacy and Information Security Awareness HIPAA training
