As a head chef you would be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations of a restaurant or food service establishment. Some of the typical duties and responsibilities of a head chef may include:
Menu planning and development: Creating new dishes updating menus and ensuring the quality and consistency of food offerings.
Kitchen management: Managing kitchen staff maintaining inventory and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Food preparation: Preparing and cooking food managing food storage and presentation and ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
Budgeting and cost control: Managing food costs maintaining a profitable kitchen and ensuring that food waste is minimized.
Staff training and development: Training and developing kitchen staff mentoring junior chefs and ensuring all staff are uptodate with industry trends and techniques.
Customer service: Ensuring that customers are satisfied with their dining experience addressing any concerns or complaints and maintaining high standards of service.
