Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The planner is responsible for establishing the production plan for the department developing the schedule/ daily load balancing shopfloor capacity and is responsible for driving focused factory material requirements to produce highly engineered products consistent with the projected forecasts to support the sales and operations plan.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing production schedule for assigned product providing sufficient lead time to procure raw materials and manufacturing components to meet production forecast requirements.
  • Establishing daily production schedules to determine in which sequence products and components will be manufactured.
  • Coordinating with production leadership to level load shopfloor while maximizing capacity utilization and rescheduling the shop floor as required to meet lead time requirements.
  • Providing order administration with status and delivery information; identifying and removing obstacles that will hinder schedule attainment & performance.
  • Expediting operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Analyzing risks and bottlenecks and developing mitigations plans with crossfunctional stakeholders including production manufacturing engineering design engineering and project management.
  • Ensuring accuracy of material master data managing MRP exception messages implementing manufacturing strategies (SS forecast etc. and management of inventory levels
  • Adhering to all safety rules and policies as determined by the organization.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to execute the weekly/monthly planning cycle maintain longterm forecasts to improve MRP accuracy.
  • Proficient understanding of safety practices within operations.
  • Proficient at analyzing site capacity requirements identifying bottlenecks and discussing corrective action with site management.
  • Knowledge of capacity and materials planning.
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • A proactive approach and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office with excellent Excel skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Project Management or another relevant field required.
  • 12 years of experience in planning and scheduling in a manufacturing environment in an ETO setting.
  • SAP experience desired.
  • APICS certification preferred.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands fingers handle or feel talk see and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 25 pounds. Use of the appropriate PPE is required.

This job operates in a manufacturing professional office environment. The employee can be exposed to fumes or airborne particles moving mechanical parts vibration and loud noise level while on the production floor.

Anticipated salary range for this position: $21700/yr to $30400/yr. The anticipated salary range is what we believe to be the likely base salary range for this position at the time of posting. Actual salary for this position will depend on relevant qualifications skills and experience
