Job Description

The Role:
As a Jr. Human Factors Engineer you are in an entrylevel position. In this role you will work under the guidance of more senior team members and apply MTIs usercentered research analysis design and development process. Your primary focus will be on learningand applying human factors principles to assist in creating highlyeffective solutions for complex critical missions.

Your Responsibilities:

    • Support the identification and evaluation of stakeholderrequirements program requirements and compliance standards such as MILSTD1472 and 46855.
    • Assist in planning and conducting human factors events andanalyses such as stakeholder requirements discovery anddefinition workflow and task analyses compliance auditsusability studies workload and situational awarenessexperiments and user evaluation events.
    • Analyze data tosupport design decisions and make design recommendations.
    • Actively engage in knowledge sharing and skill developmentwithin the team while building a rapport and collaborativeworking relationship with coworkers.
    • Collaborate with more experienced engineers and teammembers to support project objectives
    • Support the development of compliant and usercentricsolutions that effectively meet mission needs.
    • Apply human factors engineering principles to optimizeusability cost quality safety and performance whileadvocating for end users in collaboration with otherprofessionals including engineers designers managersand/or customers.
    • Contribute to the development of documentation such asHuman Engineering Design Approach Documents (HEDADs) Critical Task Analysis (CTA) reports project briefings humanfactors test results etc.
    • Apply tools and standards such as MILSTD1472 NASATask Load Index (TLX) Bedford Workload Scale SystemUsability Scale (SUS) UI style guides etc.

Your Experience:

    • A bachelors degree in Human Factors Engineering IndustrialEngineering Psychology or a related field strongly preferred.
    • Masters Degree preferred.
    • No minimum experience required.
    • Basic verbal and written communication skills to convey technicaltopics such as usability findings and insights to colleagues.
    • A Basic understanding of human factors principles and usabilitytesting methodologies.
    • A willingness to learn and adapt to new human factorsmethodologies tools and best practices.
    • A commitment to understanding and advocating for the needsand preferences of end users
