Simtra BioPharma Solutions (Simtra) is a worldclass Contract Development Manufacturing Organization partnering with pharmaceutical and biotech companies to bring their sterile injectable products to market. This role:
Simtra is seeking highly motivated undergraduate students for our Summer Internship Program. We look for diverse students with inquisitive minds and the desire to challenge themselves. Our interns work closely with industry professionals and learn quickly how to problem solve on realworld projects that contribute to clinical research and manufacturing processes. In addition to onthejob experience we offer learning sessions with top leadership site visits to local projects and social events.
The CAPEX (Sustainability) Engineering team focuses on the planning and optimization of capital projects aimed at improving manufacturing processes facilities and equipment. The intern will work closely with crossfunctional teams including reliability manufacturing/operations quality validation and regulatory affairs to ensure capital projects align with company goals regulatory requirements (FDA cGMP ISO) and sustainability initiatives. The ideal student will assist in the planning budgeting and (all stages) of capital projects.
The Engineering CAPEX intern will conduct feasibility studies and costbenefit analyses for capital investments. They will assist in vendor selection procurement and coordination for equipment upgrades. They will also perform data collection and analysis to trac project performance cost efficiency and sustainability impact.
Required qualifications:
- Pursuing a BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical Chemical Industrial Biomedical or Electrical)
- Completion of at least 3rd year of undergraduate studies
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
- Excellent organizational oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail including the ability to accomplish a task while demonstrating a thorough concern for all the areas involved
- Knowledge of capital project principles process engineering and equipment design
- Preferred experience with CAD software (AutoCAD SolidWorks)
- Preferred experience with project management tools (MS Project Primavera)
- Preferred experience with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others in a proactive positive and constructive manner
- Proven critical thinking and creativity skills; solve problems by applying technical and functional experiences
- Highly motivated selfdriven individual with passion working within pharmaceutical industry
