Job Description

Essential Functions

The duties of the Equipment Operator include but are not limited to:

Golf Course Responsibilities
1 Operates mowers for the mowing of greens collars approaches tees fairways roughs and natives.
2 Operates string trimmers for the trimming and edging of grasses in various area.
3 Operates backpack blowers for cleaning of debris leaves and other materials.
4 Operates hand and machine powered equipment for raking and maintaining sand bunkers.
5 Operates hand and machine powered equipment for edging and cleaning of cart paths and curbs.
6 Conducts course setup daily (picking up broken tees and trash filling divots setting tee markers changing hole locations fixing ball marks moving rope and stake maintaining ball washers cleaning restrooms and removing grass clippings and other debris from cart paths and tee boxes.
7 Applies chemicals and fertilizes under the direct supervision of a certified applicator.
8 Applies water to areas of the golf course and landscapes using a watering hose and other small tools.
9 Helps in project work including but not limited to sod work drainage bunker maintenance overseeding aeration and other cultural practices and projects.
10 Develops nurtures and sustains collaborative working relationships with all management and staff.
11 Works with mechanics to continue to improve maintenance schedules and systems.
12 Ensures all equipment systems are working properly before using equipment in the field.
13 Refills fuel of equipment used daily.
14 Cleans equipment daily and reports problems or failures to Equipment Manager or supervisor immediately.
15 Provides basic preventative maintenance on equipment as directed by the Equipment Manager.
16 Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

1 Provides protection of all company assets.
2 Maintains professional housekeeping standards throughout entire facility.
3 Complies with all OSHA Federal State and Company operating requirements.
4 Develops maintains and practices safe working practices.
5 Continues to build our competitive advantage by developing implementing and evaluating valuecreating strategies throughout the system.

IV. Physical Demands/Qualifications
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Regularly 2/3 or more total time) required to:
1. Using two hands to drive equipment or properly handle tools
2. Reaching with hand and arms grasping objects pushing / pulling approximately 1050 lbs.
3. Bending over squatting or kneeling to pull weeds fix ball marks fill divots move tee markers change hole locations etc
4. Twisting motion while using mowing equipment and changing hole locations.
5. Sitting in a cart or on mowing or cultivating equipment for up to 8 hours in a day
6. Standing / walking using various tools for up to 8 hours in a day
7. Hearing sufficient to understand conversations both in person on the telephone or by radio

Frequently 13 2/3 total time) required to:
1. Getting on and off ride on equipment
2. Getting in and out of golf carts
3. Lifting to 50 lbs. of sand seed fertilizer bags sod rolls or other materials / equipment
4. Using arms and back to start string start equipment like weedeaters mowers and blowers

Occasionally (up to 1/3 total time) required to:
1. Climbing stairs
2. Use of hands and wrist for unlocking doors changing hole locations filling divots edging sprinkler heads and hand watering
3. Working in extreme outdoor temperatures of over 90 degrees and under 32 degrees
4. Working for more than 10 hours in a row
5. Working a split shift


V. NonPhysical Demands/Qualifications
1 An excellent background in golf or landscape maintenance
2 Knowledge of the game of golf
3 An optimistic person who thrives on challenges leads by example and readily adapts in a competitive environment.
4 Spanish speaking is a plus but is not required.
5 Ability to follow oral and written directions.
6 Ability to operate various types of equipment safely (tractors mowers spray equipment rollers and small equipment).
7 Must be able to operate under deadlines and a high degree of pressure.


VI. Environmental Conditions
The golf course is an area with varying terrain and climate in which the equipment operator will be required to go outofdoors and into various areas within the property subjecting them to variations in temperature and humidity.
