Job Summary

Provides leadership and management in accordance to all pertinent regulations policies and procedures. Responsible for all activities of Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center Staff in accordance to documentation communication and patient care. Supports the mission goals and objective of Prisma Health. Implements and interprets policies standards and regulations for personnel patients and families.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains cost control in operation; assists in developing and monitoring departmental budgets; helps control expenditures. Orders clinical equipment and supplies

  • Maintains current knowledge of OSHA regulations safety standards and other relevant areas to ensure appropriate documentation recording and reporting of workrelated illnesses and injuries for employees. Understands correct requirements for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Oxygen documentation for billing and coding requirements from CMS. Responsible for knowledge of JCAHO guidelines for wound care and HBO clinics. Responsible for the management of all associated services in relation to outpatients as requested by referring physician orders

  • Supervises personnel in performing procedures in accordance with approved guidelines and nursing aspects of the Wound Healing and HBO Program. Supervises employees directly including selection training performance appraisal and work allocation; Serves as role model for other employees by performance and actions; applies management counseling skills in supervision and motivation of personnel; maintains and promotes good interpersonal relationships. Ensures the orientation and development of staff; enhances professional growth and development through such activities as professional affiliations

  • Participates in hospital/medical staff committee meetings as required; attends and serves on professional/civic service organizations as hospital representative

  • Works closely with staff to manage implement and direct patient care services in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Wound Healing and HBO department. Maintains personnel records; responsible for submitting payroll/time and attendance for nursing/HBO staff. Assures annual competencies are maintained and given to director and assures procedures meet clinical guidelines. Makes decisions in specific clinical situations as guided by physician approved protocols. Assists in orientation precepting and training of new personnel and physicians. Assist in the development & implementation of new protocols and algorithms. Monitors and enforces staff compliance of Prisma Health and Wound Healing and HBO policies and procedures. Monitors and enforces staff compliance with requirements of regulatory agencies. Assists with the evaluation and implementation of new equipment and procedures.

  • Assists with the ongoing development and upkeep of the dedicated wound module within the EMR. Responsible for reporting of governmental incentive program and reimbursement

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

  • Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority hire/termination authority performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health Company or affiliate and will have direct reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education Bachelors degree in Nursing

  • Experience Three 3 years of experience. Experience in Wound Care and Management preferred
