Job Description
Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Network Engineer to provide Sponsor Support located in WMA. The successful candidate will be a selfmotivated independent worker who can also work in and contribute to a team environment. The Sponsor requires the contractor to deliver tradecraft guidance and technical and network solutions to meet the Sponsors online operational objectives.
- Networks to include ability to understand network architecture diagrams and related information
- Configuring and using Virtual Private Servers Virtual Private Networks and Virtual Private Clouds
- Virtual environments and emulated mobile devices
- Android O/S to include an understanding of how the operating system works and its security settings
- Domestic and foreign social media and security implications associated with utilizing social media sites
- Commercial messaging applications and their security configurations
- Performing technical analysis on networks and applications to evaluate security and applicability to online operations
- Browser security settings and addins
- Technical troubleshooting related to networks hardware internet services and mobile applications
- Defining analyzing tracking and reviewing requirements
- Consulting with customers to determine present and future user requirements
- Communicating complex technical topics to nontechnical individuals
- Working within commercial cloud providers (AWS GCP Azure or similar)
- Utilizing network monitoring tools
- Understanding of network fundamentals TCP/IP routing switching firewalls and VPNs Ethernet DS1 T1 routing concepts and routing protocols HSRP VRRP DHCP switching 802.1Q STP VLANs EtherChannel IP Addressing Subnetting and VPN
- Cloud networking concepts
- Utilizing Tor as a means of obfuscating online activities
- Internet encryption protocols
- Degree or educational background in computer science information science systems engineering or a related discipline
- The Contractor Team shall keep current with internet technologies and services and understand their applicability and security implications for the Sponsors operations
- The Contractor Team shall research develop maintain and document tradecraft and tools associated with the Sponsors online operations
- The Contractor Team shall conduct and provide quickturn security and product assessments for new technologies utilized on the Sponsors network
Required:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Degree in information technology or demonstrated work experience in an information technology position
- Experience with networks including ability to understand network architecture diagrams and related information
- Configuring and using Virtual Private Servers (VPS) Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and Virtual Private Clouds (VPC)
- Experience with virtual environments and emulated mobile devices
- Experience with Android OS to include an understanding of how the OS works and its security settings
- Experience with foreign and domestic social media and security implications associated with utilizing social media sites
- Experience with commercial messaging applications and their security configurations
- Performing technical analysis on networks and applications to evaluate security and applicability to online operations
- Experience with browser security settings and addins
- Experience with technical troubleshooting related to networks hardware internet services and mobile applications
- Defining analyzing tracking and reviewing requirements
