Job Description

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH) is looking for an Aircraft Liaison Engineer for the following locations:

  • WinstonSalem NC (INT)
  • Greensboro NC (GSO)
  • Tulsa OK (TUL)
  • Charlotte NC (CLT)
  • San Antonio TX (SAT)
  • Jacksonville FL (JAX)
  • Pittsburgh PA (PIT)
  • Phoenix AZ (PHX)
  • Mobile AL (BFM)

Position Purpose:

Liaison engineering supporting heavy maintenance base operations at aircraft MROs

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Providing technical dispositions (via Engineering Authorizations) and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs. This often includes performing a structural analysis.
  • Providing work deviation authorization interpretation of service documents & Engineering Orders.
  • Providing options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize financial impact.
  • Providing aircraft system trouble shooting assistance to Base Maintenance.
  • Attending daily production meeting and preinduction meeting to ensure timely support
  • Providing onsite engineering assistance for significantly damaged line aircraft as required.
  • Coordinating events/issues with Engineering Fleet Groups for additional action troubleshooting and followup.
  • Monitoring trends and recurring discrepancies requiring corrective action. Developing Typical Repairs and manual supplement to eliminate repetitive BA requests.

As an ideal candidate to join the AVTECH team you will meet the following:

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    • BS Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical Aerospace Mechanical or Structural Engineering
    • Two plus 2 years in specific technical discipline

    Required Unique Skills:

    • Ability to perform structural analysis to substantiate repairs
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong investigative analytical and problem solving skills
    • Selfmotivated conscientious and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
    • Knowledge of FARs FAA policies and vendor manual (AMM IPC CMM)
    • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule to meet internal customers needs
    • Aircraft/airline/MRO or aviation engineering experience desired

    Shift:

    • Typical shift is Tuesday thru the following Monday
    • 10 hours a day (w/additional 5 hours of pay on either end to cover travel)
    • 7 on/7 off rotation (no relocation requirement)
    • Travel costs covered (i.e. flights hotel rental car etc.

    Location:

    The location will start in Charlotte with two to three weeks of training. Once training has been completed the location will change to one of the other locations listed above. Additionally the location is subject to change (with an advanced notice) depending on where coverage is needed.

    This is a W2 hourly position with an estimated pay rate of $65.00 per hour.
