Solaris System Administrator
Location: London/Bristol
Type: 6 month contract
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Solaris System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Oracle (Sparc)/Solaris (V10/11 administration and a strong background in managing clustering environments. The role also requires a good working knowledge of AWS and experience with orchestration and automation tools such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Chef Puppet and Ansible.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Oracle (Sparc)/Solaris (V10/11 environments
- Administer and optimize Solaris clustering configurations for high availability
- Implement and support AWS cloud services ensuring integration with Solarisbased systems
- Utilize automation and orchestration tools to streamline deployment configuration and system management
- Troubleshoot system performance security and reliability issues
- Work closely with development and operations teams to ensure smooth system performance
- Maintain compliance with security policies and best practices
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong handson experience with Oracle (Sparc)/Solaris (V10/11 administration
- Expertise in managing clustering and highavailability configurations
- Good knowledge of AWS cloud services and integration with onprem Solaris environments
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Chef Puppet or Ansible
- Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in system monitoring security hardening and patch management
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Solaris certification is a plus
- Experience in hybrid cloud environments
- Scripting knowledge (e.g. Shell Python Perl) for automation
