Work hours are between 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday Thursday. Incumbent may expect to work overtime as needed.
The salary range for this position is $17.08 $23.06 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. This opportunity will remain open until filled.
This position is a 10 month max working 40 hours per week with Medical Coverage option only.
Essential Functions
Operates a variety of equipment such as tractor roller etc.
Operates various mowing equipment.
Patches rakes and shovels hot mix asphalt and road base.
Jackhammers asphalt to prepare site for patching.
Drives truck to deliver personnel and equipment to work sites and ensures truck is stocked with necessary materials and tools.
Prepares vehicle mileage reports and performs routine maintenance on assigned vehicle.
Performs debris cleanup at work sites.
Other Job Functions
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School or GED Required
Required Experience
Minimum years of age at time of hire 18
Preferred Experience
Previous work experience with tractors/mowers and eaters.
Certifications
Must possess a valid drivers license.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Must possess working knowledge in the operation of light construction and mowing equipment such as pickup tractor mower etc.
Follow oral instructions and communicate effectively with coworkers and crew leaders.
Must work in adverse conditions such as extreme weather variances heavy traffic and equipment noise close proximity to moving vehicles around fuels hot oil and asphalt mixtures and fumes.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Physical Requirements:
Frequent Moderate to considerable physical effort that includes working from ladders in awkward positions. Frequent use of light or medium weight objects (e.g. 2550 lbs) and use of medium weight tools.
Working Environment:
Occasional: Exposure to hazards that are predictable or well protected against.
Frequent: Exposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.
Occasional: Exposure to hazardous conditions that may lead to workplace injury such as working in heights exposure to fly ash and/or energized electrical equipment.
