What youll do as a Mechanic at Lewis:
- Will work on Equipment across New York State. The equipment you will be working on will include but is not limited to Bucket Trucks Skidders Pickup Trucs UTVs and Tracked Skid Steers.
- Will provide quality and timely workmanship on each work order performed
- Uses impact wrenches to drill bolt various components onto mobile hydraulic equipment
- Uses small and large manual hand tools to bolt and assemble various components onto mobile equipment
- Maintains daily time records on each job assigned
- Performs rework as required
- Performs DOT inspections
- Must be able to obtain medical card
- Follows all established safety policies and practices
What youll need:
- Must have ability to completely mount assemble and performance check all products as directed by Supervisor
- Must have ability to weld and flamecut as required
- Must have ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics and written instructions
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Welding mechanical knowledge; ability to read tape measure and blueprints
- Ability to lift 2050 lbs.; push 50100 lbs.; and carry 2550lbs.
- Ability to read tape measures blueprints and diagrams
- Cummins Insite Certification or Insite Training
- Knowledge of hydraulic trouble shooting and schematic reading
- Knowledge of electrical trouble shooting and schematic reading
- Knowledge of Wabco Brake Systems and Air Brake Systems
- Valid drivers license
Candidate should possess the following:
- Experience with modern diesel diagnostics and emissions
- Experience with brake system diagnostics and repairs on commercial vehicles
- ASE certifications preferred but not required with at least 5 years of experience working with diesel vehicles including emissions diagnostics ABS brake diagnostics and repairs.
- Lift certification is preferred but not mandatory
