The Sustainability Coordinator will be supporting customers in the management of their environmental sustainability helping to ensure effective communication planning implementation and monitoring of environmental programmes to achieve engagement progress and evidence for continual improvements in sustainability.
The Sustainability Coordinator drafts communications track actions support audits reviews evidence and obtain feedback from specialists providing an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in environmental management and engagement.
You will work with consultants analysts and stakeholders within customers operations and supply chain. This collaboration will enable the Sustainability Coordinator to develop their skills and knowledge to work with increasing autonomy to provide sustainability support to our customers.
You will be passionate about sustainability with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. This entry level role will enable the individual to rapidly gain experience with scope to take independent responsibility for new and existing projects processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with operational stakeholders in client organisations.
- Support the assessment of environmental aspects and impacts of client operations products and services using standard tools and templates.
- Assist the operation of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standard management systems through document reviews audits scrutiny of environmental records compilation of reports and coordination of audit and other compliance activity.
- Onsite surveys auditing customer operations against standard requirements with guidance and support.
- Support organisations participation in thirdparty environmental sustainability frameworks.
- Contribute ideas and administer staff engagement campaigns.
- Manage the content and delivery of environmental communications (e.g. news stories and posters) and be responsible for supplying relevant business and wider environmental literature.
- Coordinate and support the delivery of live engagement events workshops and training sessions.
- Undertake data analysis to support assessment of environmental performance. Produce highquality client reports.
- Agenda setting and minute taking.
- Upkeep of action trackers and management system documentation.
- Customer reporting and query resolution.
About You
- Degree or equivalent qualification or experience
- Specialist training or education in environmental sustainability (desirable)
- proficient in Excel Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication to apply to report writing the delivery of presentations articles posters and other materials.
- Experience of selfdirected research into unfamiliar topics.
- Experience of planning and organising your work to ensure it is delivered to a high standard within the allocated timeframe.
- Numeracy and literacy skills for analysing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data.
- Ability to understand and relate legislative ethical commercial and environmental concepts.
- Experience of using multiple management and information platforms and tools.
- Ability to collate interpret qualitycheck and communicate specialist information including crossreferencing for consistency.
- Assessing environmental aspects and impacts
- Understanding of environment and sustainability standards e.g. ISO 14001 ISO 50001 (desirable)
- Developing policies procedures and forms for environmental management (desirable)
- Environmental audits (desirable)
