Job Description

The Team:

The Freeths national and awardwinning Commercial Disputes Resolution team (CDR) comprises over 100 lawyers across our 13 national offices. Most recently this was the legal team who took on the Post Office to successfully fight one of the largest miscarriages of justice in British legal history.

The London CDR team cover domestic and international disputes and include amongst others Freeths national Senior Partner Philippa Dempster and Partner Paul Kinninmont. Paul specialises in international arbitration and highvalue crossborder litigation across a variety of sectors including energy construction tech corporate and life sciences.

The teams specialisms and breadth of work is wide dealing with high value and complex disputes arising from:

  • International arbitration

  • Data protection

  • Energy and waste

  • Financial services

  • Insurance (claimant and defendant)

  • Corporate and commercial litigation arising from shareholders partnerships funds and trusts

  • Major projects

  • Professional negligence

  • Contentious insolvency matters and enforcement

  • Reputational management

As a result of the teams continuing growth in London (alongside growth nationwide) strong client demand and the career development and progression of existing team members there is now a fantastic opportunity for a further seniorlevel lawyer to join the group as a Director.

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious hardworking and selfmotivated lawyer who can demonstrate excellent legal capability with strong attention to detail. The successful candidate should be willing and able to quickly immerse themselves in a varied and interesting caseload. They will be adaptable organised enthusiastic and eager to learn with at least 8 years commercial litigation and arbitration experience and an interest in business development. Depending on your seniority a good referral network or following would be welcomed.
