Job Description

The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to support the Department of the Navy at Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic as part of its Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) program. In this role you will provide comprehensive cybersecurity support across multiple domains including Incident Response Cyber Hunt Digital Forensics Insider Threat Continuous Monitoring Vulnerability Assessment and Cybersecurity Tool Development.

NIWC Atlantic is a critical component of Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Forces Coalition Partners NonDoD and other Federal Agencies. As a Cybersecurity Specialist II you will work alongside a team that monitors both classified and unclassified networks collaborates with industry and government entities and develops innovative cybersecurity solutions.

The CSSP program is built on five core cybersecurity functions: Identify Protect Detect Respond and Recover. Your role will be vital in strengthening cybersecurity posture ensuring compliance with DoD policies and supporting the security of over 600 subscribers across multiple missioncritical environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze network activity to detect identify and respond to cybersecurity threats in classified and unclassified environments.

  • Assist in incident response and coordination efforts helping to mitigate threats and prevent cyber intrusions.

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and continuous monitoring to ensure systems remain secure and compliant with DoD cybersecurity standards.

  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes assisting with the preparation and maintenance of security documentation.

  • Utilize cybersecurity tools such as DISA Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and HostBased Security System (HBSS) to assess and maintain network security.

  • Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies guidance documents and compliance artifacts for Authority to Operate (ATO) and CSSP Accreditation.

  • Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet requirements for processing classified information while maintaining operational security posture.

  • Work collaboratively with cyber engineers analysts and leadership to implement cybersecurity best practices and enhance defensive cyber capabilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Security Clearance: Must hold an active SECRET clearance.

  • Education: High School diploma or GED with at least three 3 years of cybersecurity experience.

  • Certifications: Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II (or equivalent/higher) certification requirements such as CCNA Security CySA GICSP GSEC Security CE or SSCP.

  • Experience: Minimum of three 3 years in cybersecurity including:

    • Working knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.

    • Using Information Assurance tools (eMASS ACAS HBSS etc..

    • Supporting security documentation and compliance efforts for ATO or CSSP Accreditation.

    • Evaluating security solutions and maintaining the operational security posture of information systems.

  • Must have the ability to travel internationally.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $55250.00 $99875.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data applicable bargaining agreement (if any) or other law.
