Job Description
- Actively engage with youth in classroom environment
- Assist education staff members in managing student behaviors
- Assist teachers in preparation and implementation of curriculum
- Council youth in matters of personal conduct hygiene appearance safety social skills academics and decision making
- Proactively prevent or manage a crisis situation in a therapeutic manner
- Fulfill other duties as assigned
- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Human Services Criminal Justice Sociology Psychology Theology Social Work
- Ability to build rapport with youth based on healthy boundaries effective communication and mutual respect
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity compassion patience and active listening
- Ability to effectively work with individuals from a diverse array of cultural backgrounds beliefs customs and lifestyles
- Ability to physically restrain if required
- Demonstrated experience working with youth in professional or volunteer capacity
