The Research Associate 3 GAB assumes responsibility for the design and performance of research focused on the development of novel experimental therapies for assigned area. The incumbent contributes to collaborations with scientists within the University of Miami or elsewhere. Moreover this individual works as part of a team and assists with the maintenance of laboratory equipment protocols and supplies.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintains daily operations and performs procedures related to new and ongoing research projects.
- Performs and assists other research staff with standard laboratory techniques.
- Develops adapts and implements new laboratory procedures.
- Conducts analysis of deidentified data using statistical methods adopted for human subjects research.
- Records organizes and writes up experimental results for submission of manuscripts and for scientific presentations.
- Reviews scientific literature and prepares literature reviews for manuscripts.
- Keeps abreast of latest literature in the field and searches for references to technical problems.
- Maintains current knowledge of the methods and techniques related to the specific field of research.
- Adheres to University and unitlevel policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Psychology or a closelyrelated field; and minimum five 5 years of relevant experience. Masters degree in Psychology or a closelyrelated field two 2 years experience analyzing data acquired from human subjects research and six 6 years experience preparing technical manuscripts and/or conference proceedings is preferred. A combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum requirements.
Knowledge Skills and Attitudes:
- Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work evenings nights and weekends as necessary.
- Commitment to the Universitys core values.
- Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
- Strong knowledge of education science and human development in the context of STEM learning.
