Major Responsibilities:
- Processes and releases orders using pharmacy dispense queue.
- Oncology order set up through gathering drug diluent base solution tubing filters labels as well as anything else required for compounding.
- Delivers patient medications to patients rooms and medication room areas.
- Maintains inventory reorders restocks and monitors expiration dates of all medications in the pharmacy as well as floor stock medication provided via Pyxis.
- Familiar with pharmacy technology and equipment. Capable of troubleshooting technical problems.
- Prepares and packages all forms of medications.
- Maintains required documentation in accordance with regulatory and hospital requirements and maintains respect for patient confidentiality.
- Generates necessary pharmacy reports.
- Conducts medication room inspections in assigned patient care area in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Assembles in an accurate and efficient manner.
- Repackages bulk and supplies into units of use containers.
- Maintains a clean work area and assists in quality indicator monitoring.
- Assists with yearly inventory in assigned areas.
- Participates in identifying problems or areas for improvement and assists supervisor with problem solving projects and improving operations.
- Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities and/or teams.
- Prepares intravenous (IV) using aseptic technique in compounding cytotoxic chemotherapy targeted monoclonal antibodies immunotherapy oncolytic viruses and other IV .
- Cleans IV room floors and surfaces according to institutional policy.

- Complies with established departmental policies procedures and objectives.
- Attends variety of meetings conferences seminars as required or directed.
- Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
- Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.

- Maintains regular reliable and predictable attendance.

Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current license with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
- Certified by one of the national governing bodies such as Pharmacy Technician Certification Board PTCB or the National Healthcareer Association ExCPT.
Experience/Skills:
Required:
- 3 years of previous experience.
- Position requires proficiency in math and the knowledge and ability to use a computer.
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions with accuracy efficiency and dependability.
- Positive work ethic motivated and professional demeanor to promote teamwork in the department.
