Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Houseman you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hotels public areas both interior and exterior. Your role is crucial in creating a positive first impression and ensuring a lasting impact on our guests perception of our attention to detail and cleanliness standards. Your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Thoroughly clean and maintain all public areas of the hotel including lobbies corridors and restrooms according to established hotel procedures
  • Perform regular deep cleaning tasks such as carpet shampooing floor waxing and window washing
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and concerns related to cleanliness and maintenance
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners floor buffers and pressure washers
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and use of personal protective equipment
  • Collaborate with the housekeeping team to ensure seamless operations and consistent cleanliness standards throughout the hotel
  • Report any maintenance issues or damages observed during cleaning duties to the appropriate department
  • Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on best practices in cleaning techniques and guest service
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms banquet halls and other event spaces as required
  • Maintain and organise storage areas for cleaning supplies and equipment ensuring proper stock levels are maintained
  • Conduct periodic inspections of assigned areas to identify and address any cleanliness or maintenance issues proactively
  • Support the implementation of environmentally friendly cleaning practices and waste management procedures
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of new housekeeping staff members as needed
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of cleaning processes and procedures by providing feedback and suggestions to management
  • Ensure compliance with all hotel policies procedures and quality standards in daily operations

 

 

 


Qualifications :

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Full GCE O Level Certificate or equivalent
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills
  • Keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand walk and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and public holidays
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles in a hotel or similar environment preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning products equipment and safety procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new cleaning techniques and technologies
  • Basic computer skills for logging and reporting maintenance issues
  • Discretion and respect for guest privacy
  • Positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond for guest satisfaction
