Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Houseman you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hotels public areas both interior and exterior. Your role is crucial in creating a positive first impression and ensuring a lasting impact on our guests perception of our attention to detail and cleanliness standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Thoroughly clean and maintain all public areas of the hotel including lobbies corridors and restrooms according to established hotel procedures
- Perform regular deep cleaning tasks such as carpet shampooing floor waxing and window washing
- Respond promptly to guest requests and concerns related to cleanliness and maintenance
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners floor buffers and pressure washers
- Adhere to health and safety regulations including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and use of personal protective equipment
- Collaborate with the housekeeping team to ensure seamless operations and consistent cleanliness standards throughout the hotel
- Report any maintenance issues or damages observed during cleaning duties to the appropriate department
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on best practices in cleaning techniques and guest service
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms banquet halls and other event spaces as required
- Maintain and organise storage areas for cleaning supplies and equipment ensuring proper stock levels are maintained
- Conduct periodic inspections of assigned areas to identify and address any cleanliness or maintenance issues proactively
- Support the implementation of environmentally friendly cleaning practices and waste management procedures
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new housekeeping staff members as needed
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of cleaning processes and procedures by providing feedback and suggestions to management
- Ensure compliance with all hotel policies procedures and quality standards in daily operations
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Must have a Full GCE O Level Certificate or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues
- Good verbal and written English communication skills
- Keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Physical stamina and ability to stand walk and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and public holidays
- Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles in a hotel or similar environment preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning products equipment and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new cleaning techniques and technologies
- Basic computer skills for logging and reporting maintenance issues
- Discretion and respect for guest privacy
- Positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond for guest satisfaction
