Job Description
Job Summary:
Under general supervision performs a wide variety of highly skilled complex and nonrepetitive electronic and electromechanical assembly tasks in support of developmental or prototype requirements in product development manufacturing engineering or production operations where documentation and guidance are limited.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- May perform phases of rework component replacement and assembly.
- Read drawings wiring diagrams process sheets and assembly and schematics and receives verbal instructions regarding work assignment to construct and assemble a wide variety of developmental assemblies subassemblies and component parts.
- Aligns and assembles parts such as leads coils wires tabs and terminals into housing.
- Installs components and parts such as switches coils transformers relays transistors and semiconductor circuits on chassis circuit boards panels and other units.
- Routes and attaches wires and connectors to form circuitry and connects assembly to power supply sources switch panels or junction boxes.
- Attaches hardware and seals assembly.
- Assembles tests and modifies prototype or custom electronic parts systems and apparatus to develop assembly methods and techniques for use by production workers.
- Test operates unit to locate defects measure performance determine need for adjustment and verify specified operation.
- May perform precision soldering epoxy and other assembly tasks under a microscope.
- Replaces defective components and wiring.
- Calibrates unit according to specifications.
- Enters information on production records logs and other report forms.
- Repairs defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel.
- Uses standard electronic assembly tools and materials.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May provide general supervision in technical leadership to lowerlevel assemblers including carrying out lead responsibilities in accordance with applicable regulations and laws and the organizations policies and procedures. This includes but is not limited to training employees planning assigning directing work and resolving technically related work problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Vocational or Technical Certificate or college degree (Associates Degree) in related or specialized field; minimum of 15 years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend work and safety instructions short correspondence and memos.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual should be able to enter time and data into a computer system. Additional MS Office skills may be required.

Other Essential Duties
- Follows all import/export requirements consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
- Knowledge of specific software (design analysis ERP)
- Certified in Jstandard and/or IPC standard
Other Qualifications
- US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
- Ability to travel (domestically/internationally) approximately /10.
