Join the Research Delivery Team at Sheffield Children's where you will help support a variety of research studies and trials mostly within the Clinical Research Facility but also across the Trust.
As clinical trials grow in complexity and more specialties become researchactive this is a chance to collaborate with teams both within and outside the Trust providing children and young people with opportunities to participate in exciting clinical research.
You will manage patient care pathways recruiting educating and monitoring research participants and accurate data collection.
Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Clinical Trials Unit Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate and run paediatric clinical trials ensuring compliance with research protocols and regulations.
- Maintain accurate study documentation and site files.
- Contribute to recruitment consent procedures and information giving for participants.
- Collaborate with research teams to ensure smooth trial .
- Plan and deliver patient care prioritising individual needs.
- Advocate for participants throughout the research process.
- Help develop junior colleagues.
- Help manage systems SOPs audits and clinical trial monitoring.
- Deputise for the Clinical Trials Unit Manager

Qualifications Essential
- Degree or Diploma Level Education as Registered Nurse Midwife AHP or Graduate with degree in subject relevant to clinical research and research experience
- Have training in or be willing to undertake training in Good Clinical Practice and other relevant courses as required for the conduct of research in the NHS
- Good understanding and awareness of the National Institute of Health Research and how research in the UK is supported
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
- Clinical Skills: Venepuncture and Cannulation ECG lung function tests etc
- Teaching Mentoring and Assessors qualification
- Higher level of qualification (MSc / PhD) in a relevant clinical / scientific discipline
- Training in taking Informed Consent in clinical research
Experience Essential
- Significant work experience post registration experience for registered staff
- Significant knowledge/experience of delivering clinical research studies in the clinical setting and/or considerable exposure to research conducted in the NHS
- Recent experience of working with patients/children and planning and delivering their care
- Experience of liasing with and maintaining good working relationships with other health professionals across all clinical disciplines at all levels.

- Experience of preparing clinical research projects for monitoring / audit / regulatory inspection
