Job Description
Excel Engineering Inc. is seeking a teamoriented highly motivated individual for a FullTime Relay Technician position. This is for our power utility client in the Amarillo Texas area.

Primary Responsibilities
- Oversees substation testing inspection projects
- Reviews wiring diagrams schematics engineering documents in advance of projects
- Serves as onsite subject matter expert.
- Manages quality and safety oversight of system protection testing contractors to ensure adherence to clients processes procedures and standards.
- Identifies issues and abnormal operating conditions on substation sites
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience as a relay technician
- Strong Understanding of protection relays and high voltage protection.
- Working knowledge of high voltage potential transformers current transformers high voltage breakers and SCADA systems.
- Experience performing routine troubleshooting and repair of substation relaying and control equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel and Outlook).
Education
- Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or similar
