Job Description

Overview

Position Summary:

The Epic Analyst I Pharmacist supports the implementation optimization and maintenance of Epic Willow (Pharmacy) applications. This role assists with system configuration troubleshooting and enduser support while learning key pharmacy informatics principles and IT workflows. The analyst collaborates with clinical and IT teams to ensure medication management processes are accurately reflected in the system.

Qualifications

Educational:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm).
  • Active and unrestricted pharmacist license is required.

Epic Certification:

Epic Willow and/or Beaker certification required within 1 year of hire. Additional certifications in pharmacy informatics clinical informatics or healthcare IT are a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year of experience as a licensed pharmacist in a clinical setting.
  • Licensed Pharmacist with a strong understanding of medicationuse processes in healthcare settings.
  • Experience with Epic Willow Beaker or other healthcare IT systems is preferred.
  • Minimum one years experience in pharmacy informatics IT system implementation or healthcare technology support required.
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and clinical teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards including HIPAA Joint Commission and CMS guidelines.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the design build and maintenance of Epic Willow and Beaker applications.
  2. Configure medication formulary order sets clinical decision support tools and automation integrations.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve systemrelated issues to ensure seamless pharmacy and laboratory operations.
  4. Train pharmacy nursing and clinical staff on the proper use of Epic Willow and Beaker functionalities.
  5. Develop user guides workflows and best practices to enhance system adoption.
  6. Provide frontline support to end users and troubleshoot systemrelated concerns.
  7. Work closely with IT teams clinical leadership and pharmacy staff to optimize system workflows.
  8. Serve as a liaison between the pharmacy department and technical teams to translate clinical needs into system solutions.
  9. Participate in system upgrades testing and validation to ensure the integrity of medication workflows.
  10. Monitor system performance identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  11. Under general supervision ensure system configurations align with medication safety regulatory and operational requirements.
  12. Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations as they relate to electronic prescribing medication storage and automated dispensing.
  13. Assist in developing clinical reports dashboards and analytics to support medication management and patient safety initiatives.
  14. Support Epicrelated pharmacy informatics projects to enhance patient care and workflow efficiency.
  15. Identify opportunities to automate processes enhance clinical decision support and improve operational effectiveness.
