Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Microbiologist to join our team .
As a Senior Microbiologist you will be responsible for conducting microbiological analysis and testing to support our laboratory. You should understand the importance of advocating a noblame culture and in return we will ensure you have freedom to learn by trial and error.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of microbiological tests and analyses according to established laboratory procedures to meet ISO 17025 requirements (accredited by UKAS).
- Maintain accurate records of all tests performed including documenting results and observations.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments ensuring they are calibrated and in proper working condition.
- Assist in the development and validation of laboratory methods and techniques.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot issues and solve problems.
- Stay uptodate with industry advancements and new techniques in microbiology.
Qualifications :
How to be a successful candidate
- Experience gained in an microbiological testing laboratory is essential.
- Familiarity with operating to defined laboratory methods processes and documentation.
- Experience gained in an oilfield testing laboratory is desirable.
- Experience of working within a UKAS accredited laboratory is desirable.
- Proficient in laboratory techniques and documentation preparation.
- Degree level qualification in microbiology or a related sciencebased subject is essential.
- Full current and valid UK driving licence is essential.
- Formal audit qualification is desirable.
