The Nursing Assistant must have the skill and knowledge to provide population specific care. He/She must have the ability to assist with the collection of data for objective assessment and to identify the needs and requirements of the patient and report to the charge nurse/team leader. They will act within the scope of practice for Nursing.
The Nursing Assistant reports directly charge nurse/team leader.
1. Provide appropriate care to patients including but not limited to bathing vital signs
and glucose monitoring walking and answering the call light as needed.
2. Report abnormal vital signs and glucose reading to nurse who is overseeing patient care.
3. Report a change inpatient to nurse taking care of patient.
4. Documentation in the EMR that are accurate and detailed if needed.
5. Provide clean environment care (straightening up rooms emptying drains).
6. Provide protection of medical record and maintain HIPPA compliance.
7. Fill out incent reports as needed for actual events and near misses.
8. Other duties as assigned.
1. Education:
a. High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
b. Completion of certified nurse assistant course.
2. Licensure/Certification:
a. BLS certification required within 6 months of employment.
b. MO CNA EMT or have completed Fundamentals Class in Nursing school.
3. Work Experience:
a. Successful completion of hospital orientation
