Reinforcing Steel Worker Job Description
- Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints to identify the necessary steel reinforcement requirements for concrete structures.
- Choosing the appropriate type size and layout of steel bars or mesh based on project specifications and needs.
- Preparing cutting and shaping steel reinforcement bars according to project specifications using various tools such as cutting torches bending machines or manual hand tools.
- Placing steel bars within concrete molds (formwork) to ensure structural integrity and securing them with wire to maintain proper alignment and spacing.
- Fastening steel bars with binding wire or welding to secure their position during concrete pouring and constructing reinforcement cages for larger projects.
- Ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards including performing inspections and following safety protocols.
- Collaborating with other construction team members and site supervisors to seamlessly integrate steel reinforcement into the overall construction process.
Requirements

- Preferred experience in steel fixing or a related field.
- Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and safe handling of heavy materials.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
