The Pharmacy Technician Patient Advocate Specialist II assists patients and providers in completing benefits investigations enrolling patients in manufacturer assistance programs. Working under moderate supervision this role works to ensure patient medication access.
Responsibilities
Performs benefits investigations for specified clinic or medications. Obtains insurance prior authorizations and precertifications. Coordinates with manufacturer assistance programs for under/uninsured patients. Acts as a liaison between the patient clinic and/or infusion center pharmacy third party payor and/or drug manufacturer. Works collaboratively with clinical pharmacists and care team. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 2 years
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Pharmacy Technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire. Registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
