Job Description
Are you a perfusionist seeking an exciting opportunity to share your expertise with budding perfusion students This position offers flexibility for fulltime parttime or retired perfusionists. It involves instructing on essential cardiac surgery equipment extracorporeal circuit components and other pertinent perfusion responsibilities. Additionally youll be able to train and assess students in cardiopulmonary bypass management using the Califia Simulator. Experience with the Califia Simulator is preferred yet not required as the Cardiovascular Perfusion Program will provide training with the Califia Simulator.

Requirements:
- Certification and/or licensure: CCP/LP/CP in Cardiovascular Perfusion required
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience
- Experience utilizing highfidelity and lowfidelity training techniques
- Experience utilizing the CALIFIA simulator
- Ability to instruct and evaluate students in the fundamentals of:
- Heartlung systems including heatercoolers
- Components and assembly of the extracorporeal circuit
- Priming the extracorporeal including cardioplegia components
- Managing cardiopulmonary bypass
- Perfusion math
- Drug preparation and delivery calculations
- Cannula selection
- Physiological assessment
- Autotransfusion
- ECMO/VAD
- Prebypass preparation
- Postbypass activities
- Universal precautions
- Crisis Resource Management
