Job Description: Twin Maples Specialty Starrs new wholesale platform is looking fora highly motivated and experienced Underwriter to join our wholesale broker focused Financial Lines team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting financial lines products including but not limited to Directors and Officers (D&O) liability Employment Practices Liability (EPLI) Fiduciary Liability and Fidelity (Crime).

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal submissions for financial lines products ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines and risk appetite.
  • Analyze financial statements company performance and industry trends to assess risk and determine appropriate pricing and coverage terms.
  • Collaborate with wholesale brokers and other stakeholders to negotiate terms conditions and pricing for new and existing accounts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with wholesale brokers and clients to foster business growth and retention.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and profitability implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Stay current with industry trends regulatory developments and emerging risks affecting financial lines insurance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Finance Insurance or related field. Advanced degree or professional designation (e.g. CPCU RPLU) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 35 years of underwriting experience in financial lines insurance preferably in a wholesale or specialty insurance environment
  • Strong knowledge of financial lines insurance products underwriting principles and industry practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions.
  • Established relationships with wholesale brokers throughout the United States is preferred.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to effectively interact with brokers clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Self starter driven and can operate in an ambiguous environment. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding underwriting goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of insurance industry regulations compliance standards and best practices.
  • Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office suite.
