JOB SUMMARY
Cultural and Heritage Programs is responsible for multidisciplinary arts centres heritage and museum facilities and structures the delivery of arts heritage and museum public programming and events volunteer program development audience development and exhibits and research.
Under the guidance of a Programmer Arts Centre in Visual or Creative Arts you help children and Instructors with projects and materials and assist Instructors with the supervision of children.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Student participating in one or more of the following arts disciplines: theatre dance music visual literary and multimedia arts or related field
Minimum of 1 year but less than 2 years of related experience is required practicing and/or teaching in a related discipline
Previous experience working with children in an arts instructional setting
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES
COMPETENCIES SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and listening skills.
- Ability to work well with others.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Language Requirement:Various language requirements locations may require English only French only OR Bilingual competencies. Some positions require English oral reading and writing. Some positions required French oral reading and writing.
- Police Record Check:The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check with the Police Services detachment in their jurisdiction to the City of Ottawas satisfaction.; Note: Under the age of 18 requires a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters check in place of the Vulnerable Sector Check.; Police record checks completed by a thirdparty company will not be accepted.
