Job Description
Are you ready to bring your Press Machine Operating skills to a team that values precision and innovation At Martin Sprocket & Gear were dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components material handling systems and custom forgings with excellence and were looking for skilled Press Machine Operators like you!
What Youll Do:
- Press Operation: Set up full production cycle and operate Powder Press machines to form a variety of work pieces.
- Machine Optimization: Optimize setup times improve productivity maintain tooling and maximize machine utilization.
- Print Interpretation: Read and understand part specification prints and route instructions.
- GD&T Application: Apply expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Program Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot programs and make necessary adjustments.
- Inspection Process: Follow inprocess part inspection protocols and report nonconformance issues to the Supervisor/Lead.
- Collaborative Communication: Coordinate with superintendents managers production control and quality personnel to resolve quality concerns.
- Safety Compliance: Work safely and consistently wear required PPE throughout the shift.
- Shift Documentation: Record and document issues for a seamless shift transition.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance checks and document findings.
What Youll Bring:
- Measurement Proficiency: Knowledge of calipers gauges and other required measuring tools.
- Math Skills: Strong proficiency in basic math.
- Documentation Skills: Ability to accurately document machining procedures.
- Tooling Knowledge: Familiarity with metals partholding fixtures and lathe/mill tooling.
- Machine Experience: Experience with hydraulic press machine setup and operation (preferred).
- Communication: Basic oral communication skills and the ability to read comprehend and complete logs and reports in English.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle heavy items including lifting pushing pulling and positioning components.
- Policy Compliance: Availability to work scheduled hours and adhere to all company policies including timekeeping.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a nonclimatecontrolled shop environment and stand for an entire shift.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of machining practices materials and general mechanical principles.
- Willingness to Learn: Eagerness to be trained and a desire to learn new skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Reliability: Dependable with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
Your Schedule:
- 3rd Shift Sunday Thursday 10:00 PM 6:00 AM
