Job Description Summary
As an integral part of the Student Services team Student Resource Navigators build and support relationships with potential and current students to assist them in identifying barriers that exist could develop or would prevent them successfully beginning or completing their education. This position is responsible for efficient equitable and studentcentered delivery of college finance and enrollment guidance/advising. Student Resource Navigators provide comprehensive oneonone financial navigation and guidance to students and parents.
Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Evaluate student financial circumstances to provide relevant financial guidance and support to students regarding available college and community financial resources in accordance with all pertinent federal state and college regulations and policies.
- Build and support relationships with potential and current students to familiarize them with standard practices within postsecondary education to increase their preparedness and success with their education goals.
- Advise students on application admission enrollment and financial aid processes to assist with a successful student onboarding experience.
- Assist students in understanding and addressing the cost of attendance by developing a comprehensive financial plan through utilization of federal and state grants/loans payment plans third party financial assistance scholarship funding veterans and tribal assistance.
- Provide supportive services (i.e. case management); advise potential at risk students with identifying obstacles and barriers that may interfere with their educational goals. Help students explore options for overcoming these anticipated obstacles and/or barriers including providing appropriate referrals to college and community resources assisting with resolving questions and concerns while focusing on financial policies procedures and standards and educating students on how to use the appropriate college and community resources to accomplish academic goals.
- Provide proactive holistic wraparound case management services to students by navigating critical financial issues identifying immediate action steps connecting students to assistive college resources and working with students to identify external resources that will assist in the completion of their educational goals.
- Conduct reoccurring meetings with student on a need basis to encourage use of college and community resources resulting in program persistence retention and completion.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with external agency representatives to support at risk and underserved students in attaining communitybased services such as financial wellness transportation childcare food and housing insecurities medical and mental health care and legal advocacy.
- Facilitate the distribution of college and community resources directly to students to remove barriers to successfully complete their education (i.e. gas cards textbooks technology emergency funding community partner vouchers etc..
- Participate in team activities related to operational planning scheduling and document daily activities in Workday and/or appropriate tools for reporting/tracking purposes.
- Be efficient and effective in the use of the colleges email and text messaging platforms to reach and communicate with the appropriate population of prospects applicants and students.
NonEssential Functions and Responsibilities
- Contribute to and help develop Student Financial Services and Student Services initiatives and participate in team decisionmaking.
- Design and implement outreach marketing promotion and recruitment strategies to ensure student participation.
- Provide presentations to faculty staff and students related to the Student Resource Navigator position college resources as well as information on community resources.
- Manage documentation and statistical data to report position outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in related field required AND
- A minimum of two years of recent related experience which includes responsibility for working with students in providing advising and/or guidance in a college educational or transitional program AND
- Demonstrated experience with developing and using collaborative relationships and to identify and engage necessary resources to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals AND
- Demonstrated experience working with and leading faculty and counselors in assisting students in developing personal plans (establishing financial educational and/or employment objectives and steps/services needed to accomplish) OR
- Extensive knowledge of FERPA College policy State and Federal regulations OR
- An equivalent combination of related education training and experience.
- Proficiency in computer use to include Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and Word is desirable.
- Proficiency in Workday is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience regarding the needs of students with multiple educational barriers is required.
- An understanding of the dynamics and pressures of college students and a strong interest in actively engaging to support student success.

Work Environment
- In general work must be completed in person however there is opportunity for occasional remote work.
Work environment may change based upon college needs.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting: This role requires extended periods of sitting while performing tasks and utilizing computer systems.
- Mobility: While much of the work is deskbased occasional mobility may be necessary for attending meetings office tours or events within the workplace.
- Lifting and Carrying: The role requires occasional/continuous lifting and carrying of light to moderate items 520 lbs).
- Repetitive Motions: Capacity to perform repetitive motions such as typing without discomfort or injury.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with employees candidates and stakeholders both inperson and through electronic means.

Additional Information
Pay Rate: $24.53 per hour.
Pay is based on a multitude of factors including experience qualifications education relevant certifications internal equity and market data. Note: Internal applicants wage will be based upon the applicable compensation guidelines.
