Job Summary:

The role of the Body Shop (Body Tech) Specialist is to deliver a premium retail experience to our clientele while maintaining a high quality and performanceoriented environment. He/she will be measured by achieving 100 or greater hour efficiency; delivering the highest quality body repairs without comebacks; and by maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction. The Technician must have a minimum offive years experience in a dealership atmosphere and/or in a continuous improvement process/procedureoriented shop environment.. He/she will be expected to produce outstanding quality results on time or earlier.

The ideal Collision Center Technician is a highly experienced auto paint specialist who takes extreme pride in his/her quality of work has an unrestricted drivers license clean driving record teardown and finish work experience a strong a trustworthy demeanor and can drive both an automatic and standard.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:

  • Perform work outlined on repair order with efficiency accuracy and high quality and in accordance with dealership insurance company and GM Mazda and Kia standards
  • Immediately communicate with body shop manager if additional work is needed; if work outlines is not needed; and/or if repairs cannot be completed in the promised time
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order with proper flag sheets technician notes etc.
  • Participate in all Paint Company ICAR ASE or other training programs certifications schools and events
  • Perform daily cleaning of all body shop areas prior to leaving for the day
  • Maintain dealershipowned tools and manuals in good working order and assume accountability for those tools; return all tools/manuals to their proper place after use
  • Understand stay abreast of and comply with federal state and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal OSHA RighttoKnow etc.
  • Operate all tooling and equipment in a safe manner
  • Immediately report safety issues to management
  • Assist fellow technicians in the learning process and act as a mentor to new technicians by illustrating best practices and by embracing/promoting quality repairs
  • Adhere to all company policies procedures and safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Pulling: Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves toward the force (includes jerking)
  • Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders stairs scaffolding ramps poles using feet and legs or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized
  • Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking standing crouching or running on narrow slippery or erratically moving surfaces or maintaining body equilibrium when performing gymnastic feats
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee or knees
  • Crouching: Bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine
  • Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
  • Handling: Seizing holding grasping turning or otherwise working with hand or hands. Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are an extension of the hand such as to turn a switch or shift automobile gears
  • Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects such as size shape temperature or texture by touching with skin particularly that of fingertips
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or to the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately loudly or quickly
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds by ear
  • Tasting/Smelling: Distinguishing with a degree of accuracy differences or similarities in intensity or quality of flavors or odors or recognizing particular flavors or odors using tongue or nose
  • Near Vision: Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less
  • Far Vision: Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more
  • Depth Perception: Threedimensional vision. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are
  • Visual Accommodation: Adjustment of lens of eye to bring an object into sharp focus. This factor is required when doing near point work at varying distances from the eye
  • Color Vision: Ability to identify and distinguish colors
  • Field of Vision: Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point
