Impact
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Partner and Core Integrations team you will collaborate with a talented crossfunctional group of Product Managers Engineers and Partner Teams to build scalable highperformance solutions that power messaging geo services internal tooling and partner integrations. Your work will directly impact the reliability and efficiency of missioncritical systems including SameDay Delivery enhancements geodistance matrix calculations and messaging platforms.In this role you will work as part of a collaborative team of 5 engineers to design develop test deploy and maintain Gobased microservices. You will leverage API integrations observability best practices and infrastructure tools like SQL databases and Kafka (nice to have) to drive impactful scalable solutions. Youll be responsible for developing testing deploying and monitoring the effectiveness of your contributions ensuring they create value for end users and align with our business objectives.
What Youll Need to Be Successful
- You have 5 years of software development experience with a programming language like Golang (preferred) Python Java or C/C.
- You have experience designing developing testing (unit/integration/etc. deploying and maintaining backend REST API services with a strong focus on performance and latency.
- You are comfortable working with SQL databases (Postgres preferred).
- You actively participate in the design process to build efficient scalable and maintainable architecture.
- You have experience diagnosing and solving complex technical problems and performance bottlenecks using data.
- You take ownership of production services ensuring their reliability and performance and are willing to participate in oncall production support rotation.
- You collaborate effectively with fellow engineers product managers and partner teams to deliver impactful solutions.
- You are selfdriven and outcomeoriented you care about delivering value more than just shipping features.
- You are passionate about learning mentoring and helping others grow.
- You have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- You have experience designing developing and maintaining systems that integrate with thirdparty services.
- You have optimized backend systems for latency performance and scalability.
Work Arrangement
Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham San Francisco or Minneapolis to be hybrid which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate collaborate and spark team connections. Inoffice expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require inoffice presence on a fulltime basis. $93000$187000Please note that the salary range above is a guideline and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications skill level competencies and work location.
