Job Description
Coordinates and provides athletic training services for athletic programs in the collegiate setting. Participates in outreach activities as available as a representative of Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research. Delivers treatment and clinical care to patients under the supervision of the physician in accordance with quality standards of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery Division of Sports Medicine. Further the role of the athletic trainer at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery Division of Sports Medicine through the development of strategic goals the documentation of information related to the care and referral of athletes the formation of new programs and materials focused on wellness injury prevention and fitness for athletes.
Qualifications
A Bachelors degree is required for certification prior to December 31 2022. A Masters Degree is required for certification after January 1 2023. Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Training along with Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure is required. CPR certification is required. Minimum of two years of collegiate or professional athletic training experience is required. . Must be able to demonstrate clinical proficiency with good manual dexterity in order to manipulate treatment equipment. Must have strong communication and human relation skills to interact with clinicians administrators students coaches parents etc. Experience in program development resource allocation and marketing of athletic training services is preferred. At least five years experience working as an athletic trainer in a collegiate or professional setting is preferred/ Willing to work evenings and weekends.
