At Cognite the Global Strategic Services team leads software implementation deployment & adoption for clients and helps them accelerate their digital transformation efforts with Cognites product suite. We consist of people with diverse and highperformance backgrounds ranging from Management Consulting to Industry and Software development. You are responsible for the on time on budget delivery of projects for our customers post sale. You create the ultimate cohesive unit for our project teams and the customers you represent. You are responsible for setting expectations and creating and executing both long term and short term plans that will meet your customers goals and accelerate Cognites footprint in your customers technology landscape. You will connect with key stakeholders assign tasks address blockers manage risks and report progress to leadership clearly and concisely. You will be the bridge between your customers partners and Cognites Engineering and Product Management teams and advise on development priorities. As part of the broader account teams you will need to enjoy working closely with people to solve challenging problems and be able to understand complex technology. You will be expected to quickly understand Cognites offering so that you can connect the customers desired outcome with Cognites software and drive successful project deliveries which will ultimately lead to increased adoption and revenue growth.
Principal Implementation Project Managers are champions of learning process improvement and project management standards so you need to be aware of the latest developments standards and tools in the industry. You will coach other team members drive results and work with project teams to build best practices methodologies and standards to achieve milestones both for Cognite and for the customer.
This role is a hybrid role based out of our office in Houston Austin or Phoenix.
What Youll Do
- The Principal Implementation Project Manager is the leader for multiple concurrent and complex implementation projects that vary in size and scope. The Principal Implementation Project Manager is accountable for the following:
- Collaborate with Customer Success Data Scientists Solution Architects and Domain Experts to design develop and operationalize digital solutions across various industries including O&G Manufacturing and Power & Utilities
- Demo Cognites products and solutions as needed to prospects and customers
- Work with customers and account teams to define and scope success criteria and deliverables for Cognites offerings as part of the PreSale process
- Confirm success criteria for each project with customers and build the project plans that will ensure value delivery within scope and budget
- Oversee project including personnel assignment project scheduling and timely delivery
- Manage a complex stakeholder landscape and provide clear concise and complete communications to customer and Cognites Leadership Team
- Manage project risks escalating where necessary but also taking ownership as needed to manage customer expectations
- Get your customers voices heard by clearly communicating product development priorities and business value to Cognites Product and Engineering teams
- Contribute to the wider Cognite team culture and development by collaborating on team initiatives and building best practices for repeatable implementation processes
- Guide decision making build best practices methodologies and drive project milestones and targets
- Participate in hiring as we grow the project management team
Who You Are
- 9 years experience in leading technology implementation projects for Enterprise customers
- Experience leading projects in the Upstream and/or Midstream Oil & Gas and LNG industries is required
- Familiarity with Waterfall project management methodologies
- Knowledge of iterative project management frameworks such as LEAN Scrum and Agile
- Working knowledge of Design Think and humancentered design principles preferred
- Experience in industrial digitalization projects or product development of IoT cloud/SaaS solutions or machine learning
- Proven ability to execute on endtoend SaaS project cycle scoping delivery training and renewal
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes (customers endusers internal resources partners etc.
- Professional consulting and handson software implementation experience
- Experience driving standards and motivating your teams towards measurable outcomes
- Strong writing presentation and communication skills including the ability to lead meetings and manage expectations
- Bachelors in Business Engineering Computer Science or similar work experience (Masters/MBA preferred)
