Highways and Transport Driving the future
The purpose of the Fleet workshop team is to provide maintenance repair and compliance across a wide range of operational mechanical vehicles and equipment.
As an HGV and Light Vehicle Mechanic you will carry out all types of mechanical work including servicing and repairs on all our varied fleet.
You may also complete other work in connection with MOT testing Taxi Inspections safety inspections maintenance repair of our Fleet and our plant and equipment.
Your responsibility is to ensure the Councils fleet of vehicles and plant/machinery are kept roadworthy and serviceable. The fleet includes Cars Vans Minibuses MPVs mobile library vehicles 4x4s and HGV trucks including EV and Diesel
You will also be part of our outofhours emergency roadside assistance and recovery callout to provide backup in emergency situations.
Ideally we are looking for a candidate with a C category driving license and vast experience as vehicle mechanic of a variety of different vehicles who has fantastic communication skills and ability to make autonomous decisions.
