Industrial Engineer CoOp Fall 2025Job Description:
The Role:
Our site in San Luis Obispo CA is seeking a/an Industrial Engineer CoOp to join our team for the Fall 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.
In this role you will support the development of Industrial Engineering methods in the areas of factory layout and capacity planning. Working closely with process engineering and production the Industrial Engineer CoOp will create and validate capacity models for every equipment type lead maintenance of master data in ERP system as well as MS excel based capacity models. The candidate will learn how to identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements and/or new capital requests. Their support will drive efficiency improvements in the factory.
What Youll Do:
Work with teams to identify problems analyze information and develop and implement process solutions
Time study critical (bottleneck) processes and build capacity models for your area/s
Time study all processes and build capacity models for essential equipment
Develop and validate capacity models to predict equipment quantities to meet technology ramps
Develop Value Stream Maps to improve material process and communication flows
Support the implementation of lean manufacturing processes continuous improvement standard work problem solving value stream mapping training and employee involvement
What We Seek:
Excellent communication skills to clearly communicate ideas to all levels within the organization
Manufacturing experience
Ability to lead teams and implement projects through continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean or Six Sigma (DMAIC) with handson application engaging floor practitioner
Experience with time and motion studies; capacity modelling
Experience in Advanced MS Office: Excel Word PowerPoint
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering
Graduating in December 2025 or later
Eligibility:
Must be a currently enrolled student
Available to work 40 hours a week MF 8a5p) beginning in July through December
Must be familiar with the universitys requirements to participate in a coop program

Compensation: $20$30/hour range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
