The Analytics Server team is responsible for developing Machine Learning Computer Vision Natural Language Processing (NLP) and AI algorithms for SAS Viya. We support over 100 procedures in the SAS Programming Language and provide the analytics backend for Model Studio Visual Text Analytics and several other products.
As an intern you might:
- Prototype new algorithms and/or features in existing algorithms
- Benchmark algorithms against opensource alternatives
- Write unit tests for new and existing algorithms
- Automate the testing and deployment of algorithms and features in a CI/CD framework
Required Qualifications
- Degree Type: Masters or PhD
- Targeted majors: Computer Science Statistics or related quantitative program
- Youre a college student enrolled in an accredited program not graduating prior to December 2025.
- You have programing experience in C/C and/or Python
- You have domain expertise in Machine Learning Computer Vision NLP or AI.
- Youre curious passionate authentic and accountable. These are ourvaluesand influence everything we do.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate youll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty.
- Youre interested in the future of Analytics and embrace technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- You are familiarwith major opensource libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow
- You are familiar with git and GitHub
Location
This internship will be a hybrid position based in Cary NC with the option to be fully remote.
Internship dates:
May 20 August 8 2025:Fulltime during the Summer 35hr/week)

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicants year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 $31 for associates/bachelors level positions and $29 $49/hour for masters/Ph.D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonus.
